Volunteering at Pragalathan Farm
Volunteer opportunities in organic permaculture farming in Tamil Nadu, India.
Volunteers are welcome! By volunteering with us you will learn about old and new methods of sustainable farming, experience the warmth of Indian family life, eat delicious home-cooked vegetarian meals, and participate in an ecologically based project.
We are located 7km from the town of Tiruvannamalai, site of the sacred Arunachala hill and the famous Ramana Maharshi ashram. Tiruvannamalai is 3 hours drive from Pondicherry and Auroville. It is 4½ hours from Chennai, 5 hours from Bangalore, and 6 hours from Madurai.
We ask a commitment of 15 days and a contribution of 200 INR per day to cover food and board. Long term volunteers are most welcome, particularly those who can stay for the duration of a crop from seed to seed. For long term volunteers we charge only for food.
